How to Season Salmon

Salmon is one of the tastiest and healthiest types of fish you can find. But if you want to take your salmon seasoning to the next level, the following steps will show you how.

Step 1: Gather the Ingredients

You'll need to pick up the following ingredients before you begin:

  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • Optional extra seasoning, such as cayenne pepper.

Step 2: Prepare the Salmon

Place the salmon filet on a cutting board and use a sharp knife to scrape away any scales. Rinse the salmon in cold water, then pat dry with a paper towel.

Step 3: Add the Seasoning

Sprinkle salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper over the entire surface of the salmon. You can adjust the amounts of each ingredient to taste. For an extra kick, try adding a dash of cayenne pepper.

Step 4: Cook the Salmon

Heat a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat, then add a few tablespoons of oil. Place the salmon filet skin side down in the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the skin has browned and the salmon is cooked through.

Step 5: Serve

Remove the salmon from the skillet, and enjoy your delicious, freshly-seasoned salmon!
