Packaging Art Prints

Sending or storing art prints can be a tricky task, but with the right materials and technique, your prints will be safe and presentable. Follow these steps to properly package art prints.

Step 1: Choose the Right Envelope or Container

The type of envelope or box you use for packaging will depend on the size and shape of the items you are attempting to ship. Generally, square or rectangular prints can be placed in rigid mailers or envelopes with stiff cardboard support. If you are shipping multiple prints, you can place them in a larger envelope or box.

Step 2: Add Padding

No matter what kind of envelope or box you use, add cushioning to the inside to further protect the prints. Packaging peanuts, bubble wrap, or tissue paper are all suitable materials. If shipping fragile items or glass, include two layers of cushioning.

Step 3: Attach Shipping Labels

Label the container clearly with the name and address of the recipient and the returning address. For added security, consider including a tracking number or barcode, if possible.

Step 4: Seal It

The final step is to close the package. Use packing tape that can adhere in hot or cold temperatures and can withstand getting wet. Reinforce the seams and corners as necessary to ensure the box or envelope stays closed during transit.

Step 5: Have it Shipped or Delivered

Congratulations, you have successfully packaged your art prints! Now it's time to send them off. You can choose to deliver the package yourself, or have it shipped to the recipient using a reputable shipping service.
