Shipping a painting requires careful wrapping and packaging to ensure that it arrives in perfect condition. Read through the following steps to ensure that you package your painting correctly for safe shipping.
When it comes to finding a box, choose one that is approximately two times the size of the painting. Make sure that the box is sturdy and free of damage. Wrap the painting in bubble wrap and place it upside down in the box.
In order to protect the painting from bumps and shocks there needs to be padding around it. Place some bubble wrap around the painting in the box and stuff any remaining space inside the box with newspaper. Place pieces of cardboard on either side of the painting for extra protection.
Make sure the box is sealed securely. Use packing tape to strengthen the box. Close up all open edges of the box, and use tape to mark ‘Fragile’ clearly on the box.
Finally, label the package with the recipient’s address on the front of the box and your return address on the back.
