How to Reduce Lip Injection Swelling

Lip injections are a convenient way to get full, luscious lips without the need for surgery. However, getting these injections can lead to swelling and soreness. While the swelling will likely go down on its own, you can take steps to reduce it.

Instructions

  1. Use an ice pack or bag of frozen peas on your lips. Hold this for 15 minutes every few hours for the first two days.
  2. Take an OTC anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen or naproxen.
  3. Wash your lips gently with a warm washcloth. Do not scrub. This will help reduce any crusting or scabbing that may have formed.
  4. Clean up any extra filler that may have leaked out of your lips with a damp tissue. This will reduce any irritation.
  5. Keep your lips moisturized with a non-irritating lip balm or Vaseline.
