How to Fix a Leak in a Gas Tank

Gas tank leaks can be dangerous and expensive to repair. To prevent further damage to your gas tank, take these steps to safely fix a gas tank leak:

  1. Locate the source of the leak.Look for signs of rust or corrosion on the exterior of the tank. If you find such signs, then a replacement tank may be required.
