  1. Open Thunderbird. Locate the account you would like to export, and right-click on it.
  2. Select the “Account Settings” option from the menu.
  3. Scroll down to the “Local Directory” option on the left side of the window. Select “Local Directory” and click the “Choose..” button.
  4. Browse to the location on your computer where you would like to save the exported emails. Click “OK”.
  5. Click the “Export” button at the bottom of the window.
  6. You will be asked to confirm your choice. Click the “OK” button.
  7. A progress window will appear, tracking the progress of the export. Wait until this process is complete.
  8. You will be asked if you would like to compact the folder. Select “No”, then click “OK”.
  9. The export is now complete. Check the location you saved the export to verify the files are present.
