Exporting Images from a Video File using VLC

VLC is a being widely used media player which supports many video files. It also has the feature to export still images from a video file. With this feature it easy to capture special moments or frames from a video. To extract an image from a video file using VLC:

  1. Open VLC media player and select the video file.
  2. Go to the Tools Menu and select Codec Information.
  3. Under the Statics tab, select the frame that you wish to capture.
  4. Go to Video >> Snapshot (or press Shift+S) to save the image.
  5. Choose where you would like to save the image.

Once you've saved the image you can access it via the folder it was saved or through the File menu of VLC media player.
