5 Ways to Stop Spotify from Opening on Startup

Spotify can be quite the inconvenience when it automatically opens on your computer every time you boot it up. To prevent Spotify from launching during startup, check out these quick and easy solutions:

  1. Disable Spotify from automatically launching when you log into Windows. Press the Windows key and type “Startup.” Select the “Startup Apps” menu and find the Spotify application to disable.
  2. Turn off Web Helper in Task Manager. Find Web Helper in the list of running applications, then right-click it and select “End task.”
  3. Remove Spotify from the startup folder. Access the startup folder by typing “shell:startup” into the Windows search bar. From there, select and delete any items related to Spotify.
  4. Uncheck the “Let Spotify control my music” box in the app. This setting is found in the app’s Preferences window.
  5. Stop Spotify from running in the background. Open the Task Manager, find Spotify in the list of processes, and end its process.

Using any of the above methods can help disable Spotify from automatically opening on startup.
