How to Start XAMPP at System Startup in Windows

If you want XAMPP to start automatically when your computer runs, here are the steps to follow:

  • Download NSSM – First you need to download and install the Non-Sucking Service Manager (NSSM) from its official website. This application allows you to create Windows services from command-line applications.
  • Create a Service with NSSM – With the Non-Sucking Service Manager installed, launch the Command Prompt application as an administrator. Then run the following command:
    nssm install "XAMPP"
This command will open the NSSM window. Here, in the Path field, enter the path to the XAMPP\xampp_start.exe file. This file is usually located in the C:\xampp directory. Then click on Install Service.
  • Configure the XAMPP Service – Now open the Windows Services to configure the XAMPP service. Here, double-click on the XAMPP service to open its Properties window. Set the Startup type to Automatic so that the XAMPP service will start with your computer's boot sequence.

That's it. The XAMPP service should now start by itself when your computer boots. However, if you need an even more powerful way to run the XAMPP service, you can run it as a Windows service with the help of the Apache Service Monitor.
