How to Remove Bees from a Chimney

Bees can sometimes find their way inside a chimney and build a nest. If you find bees in or around your chimney, follow the steps below to safely remove them and their nest.

  1. Put on protective clothing. To protect yourself from the bees, wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt, gloves, and a hood or hat.
  2. Light a smoke bomb. Follow the instructions on the Bomb Package. The smoke will help drive the bees out of your chimney.
  3. Wait for the bees to flee. Once the smoke starts to come out of the chimney, the bees will start to flee. If the bees are persistent, you may have to use a longer-lasting smoke bomb.
  4. Remove the nest. Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter to safely remove the nest from your chimney.
  5. Patch any cracks or holes in the chimney. Make sure to seal any entrances that the bees may have used to get into your chimney.

Once you have finished these steps the bees should be gone from your chimney. If you continue to have problems, consider consulting a professional exterminator.
