Adding a webcam to OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) to stream video can be quite simple and straightforward! Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it for both PC and Mac:
Instructions for PC
- Step 1: Connect the webcam to your computer.
- Step 2: Open OBS.
- Step 3: Click the “+” button under the “Sources” box.
- Step 4: Select “Video Capture Device”. This will create a new window where you can choose your webcam from the list of capture devices.
- Step 5: Once you have selected your webcam, you can choose the size and resolution of your stream. It is best to keep your stream at 720p for the best viewing quality.
- Step 6: Click “Ok” to confirm your settings.
- Step 7: At the bottom of the “Sources” box, you can rename your webcam to whatever you would like.
- Step 8: Click the Start Streaming button at the bottom right corner of the screen, and you will be ready to go!
