How to Make Roman Blinds
Making roman blinds can be a simple and rewarding project. Here are some easy steps to follow in order to make the perfect roman blinds for your window:
- Measure the window width and length for the width and drop of the blind, then cut the fabric to size adding an extra 3 cm on each side for the hem.
- Create a hem on each side of the fabric by folding the edge over 1 cm and sewing it down.
- Fold the top of the fabric over 8 cm and create another hem to make a slot for the batton tube.
- Create a channel at the bottom of the fabric by folding the material 3 cm and 4 cm and sewing in place.
- Cut the batton tube to the length of the window width. Insert the batton tube into the slot. Push the curtain rings onto the batton and slide them to the desired spacing.
- Sew hooks onto the back of the fabric above the batton tube.
- Attach a cord to each curtain ring. Pull the cords up and knot them into place on the back of the fabric.
- Hang the blinds on the window rod, and enjoy the new addition to your home!
