How to Back up Original Xbox Games

Backing up original Xbox games is a great way to preserve your gaming collection. Here are the steps you need to take to back up your original Xbox games:

  1. Purchase a USB to IDE/SATA converter from an electronics store.
  2. Connect the USB to the SATA converter. Then connect one end of the SATA cable to the hard drive. Connect the other end of the SATA cable to the SATA adapter.
  3. Connect the power supply to the hard drive.
  4. Plug the USB end of the converter into a port on your computer.
  5. Load a CD burning program onto your computer. Several free programs that offer this functionality are EasyBurner, DiscJuggler and CDRWIN.
  6. Insert the original Xbox game disc into the computer's DVD-ROM drive.
  7. Open the burning program, create a new project and select the DVD-ROM drive. Choose the "Copy Disc" option.
  8. Burn the disc's contents onto the computer's hard drive.
  9. Once the disc is fully backed up, insert a blank recordable DVD disc into the DVD-ROM drive.
  10. Create a new project in the burning program and select the blank DVD disc. Select the contents of the hard drive that were just backed up.
  11. Burn the data from the computer's hard drive onto the blank DVD disc.
  12. Remove the blank DVD from your computer. It is now a backup of your original Xbox game.
