How to Add Text to InDesign
InDesign is an Adobe program that helps create page layouts and graphics for print and digital media. With InDesign, you can create a text frame, which can be used for titles, body text, captions, or other text elements. Adding text to an InDesign document is relatively straightforward; here's how to do it.
Steps
- Open the InDesign document in which you want to add text.
- Click the "Type" tool from the Tools panel.
- Drag the cursor to define the size of the text frame. Alternatively, you can choose "Type"--> "Frame Options..." to specify the measurements of the text frame.
- Select a font, font size, font color, alignment, leading, and more from the Character, Paragraph, and Story panels.
- Start typing in the text frame.
- To resize the text frame, click and hold any of the corner boxes and drag it until the frame is the desired size.
- To adjust the color of the text, select the text frame and use the "Fill" and/or "Stroke" icons or swatches in the Control Panel.
- Repeat steps 1-7 for any additional text frames.
