Removing an Ink Stain from Auto Upholstery

Ink stains can be one of the most difficult types of stains to remove from any surface, and auto upholstery is no exception. However, if dealt with promptly, you can successfully remove an ink stain from auto upholstery.

What You Will Need:

  • White towel or paper towel
  • Window cleaner
  • Household dish detergent
  • Vinegar
  • Rubbing alcohol

Instructions:

  1. Blot the ink stain immediately to start absorbing as much of the ink as possible. Use a white towel or paper towel to prevent any further staining.
  2. Combine a few drops of household dish detergent in some warm water and create a sudsy mixture.
  3. Apply the mixture to a clean cloth and begin rubbing the stain in a clockwise motion.
  4. Rinse the cloth and reapply a few drops of household detergent to the cloth to recollect the ink.
  5. Repeat the same process with a clean cloth and either diluted window cleaner, vinegar or rubbing alcohol.
  6. Allow the area to completely air dry.
