How to Measure for Outside Mount Blinds
Outside mount blinds can be an easy way to refresh the look of a room. Start the process by properly measuring the window for outside mount installation.
Instructions
- Measure the width of the area where you plan to install the outside mount blinds. Measure from one end of the frame to the other in three places - on both sides and in the center.
- Measure the height of the area in the same way. Measure on both sides of the frame, and in the center.
- Use the longest measured measurement for the width and the longest measured measurement for the height to determine the correct size of outside mount blinds for the window.
- Add two to four inches to the width measurement for a total outside mount blind width.
- Add two to four inches to the height measurement for a total outside mount blind height.
- Note the total width and total height measurements and use them to purchase your outside mount blinds.
