How to Hook Up a Gas Stove

Gas stoves are becoming increasingly popular, and you may find yourself in need of connecting one. While this may seem intimidating, it’s not as complicated as it looks. Follow these steps and you'll have your gas stove up and running in no time:

  1. Turn off the gas at the mains. Doing this will prevent the risk of any gas leaking in while you fit the stove.
  2. Lay a cloth down under the work area to protect the floor.
  3. Remove the cap from the gas supply pipe and screw the stove's flexible hose onto it, making sure it's tight.
  4. Attach the other end of the flexible hose to the regulator. This is quite a tight fit, but you should be able to get it in.
  5. Now attach the regulator pipe to the stove.
  6. Place the bayonet connector on the regulator. This will fit to the mains gas pipe and enable the gas to be switched on and off.
  7. Finally, switch the gas supply back on.

You can now turn on the gas at the stove and light it in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Then you're good to go!
