Switching from one email platform to another can be a time-consuming and intimidating experience. However, with the right methods and tools, you can easily transition from Yahoo Mail to Gmail without losing a beat.

Steps for Transferring Mail & Contacts

  1. Set up a Google account and sign into Gmail. This will be the destination account for your emails and contacts.
  2. Go to the account info page in Yahoo Mail and select the “Forward” option. Enter the Gmail address that you just created. Select your time frame and set up forwarding for all future messages.
  3. Go to Gmail's Settings and choose the “Accounts” tab. Select “Import Mail and Contacts” and enter your Yahoo Mail address and password. Click “Start Import.”
  4. Go to Yahoo's Contacts page and select the contacts that you want to export. Choose either a CSV or vCard file format and click “Export.”
  5. Go to Gmail's Contacts page and click the “More” tab. Select “Import” and choose the contacts file that you just exported from Yahoo Mail. Click “Import.”

You should now have your mail and contacts successfully transferred from Yahoo Mail to Gmail.
