How to Reprogram a Sentry Safe

If you want to reprogram a Sentry safe, you can do so with or without the factory code. Follow these steps to reset your safe:

• Make sure you have a backup of any important documents or items that are in your Sentry safe.
• Take out all stored items.
• Close the door of the Sentry safe and turn the knob or handle clockwise until it stops.

Resetting With Factory Code

• Find the red control button and simultaneously press and hold. While continuing to press and hold the button, turn the handle clockwise.
• Release the red control button when the green light appears.
• Enter the factory code. This 6 digit code should be provided with the original packaging of your safe.
• Press the pound (#) key to save the code and the program is now completed.

Resetting Without Factory Code

• Open the safe door.
• Press and release the red reset button, located on the right side of the handle.
• Immediately press and hold until the green light appears. This will take 10-15 seconds.
• Enter a new 6 digit code and press the pound (#) key to save.

Reprogramming a Sentry Safe

Reprogramming a Sentry safe is a simple process, regardless of whether or not you have the factory code. Follow these steps to reprogram your Sentry safe:

1. Gather the supplies you will need, including a 9-volt battery and the Sentry safe lock.
2. Press and hold down the two buttons on the face of the lock simultaneously. Continue to hold down the buttons until the green LED light above the buttons is lit.
3. Enter your new code. Now that the LED light is lit, use the number pad to enter your chosen six-digit code, made up of numbers 0-9.
4. Verify that your code is correct. When your code has been entered, press either of the buttons. The LED light will flash to indicate that the code has been accepted and programmed.
5. Test the new code. To test the new code, enter it to ensure the safe opens.

Now your Sentry safe has been successfully reprogrammed and you can use your new code!
