How to Print Screen on Laptops

Printing the screen on a laptop might differ according to your laptop model and type, but the general methods are relatively similar across all types of laptops. This article will outline the steps necessary to print screen on laptops.

  1. Press either “PrtSc”, “PrtScn”, “PrintScr” or “PrintScrn” on your keyboard. This will usually capture the full screen.
  2. If you want to capture a specific part of the screen, simultaneously press the “Alt” key and the “PrtSc” key. Depending on the operating system, this might capture a "screenshot" of the window you currently have open.
  3. Open a graphic application such as MS Paint, Adobe Photoshop, or GIMP. Use either the “Ctrl” + “V” or the “Right Click + Paste” to paste the screenshot.
  4. If needed, crop the image to the desired size and adjust its quality.
  5. Go to “File > Save As” and choose the type of image file you would like the screenshot to be converted to. Click “Save” and your screenshot will be saved in the specified folder of your choice.
