How to Dehydrate Mangos

Dehydrating mangos is an easy process that allows you to create your very own dried mango treats at home. Follow these steps to achieve the best result:

  1. Wash and dry the mangoes.
  2. Slices the mangoes into thin strips about ¼ to ½-inch thick.
  3. Sprinkle your mango slices with sugar if desired. This can help to add a sweeter touch to the mangoes.
  4. Lay the mango slices on the trays of your dehydrator, and make sure to spread them apart to prevent them from overlapping.
  5. Set the dehydrator at 135°F and leave for 6 to 12 hours.
  6. Check the mango slices every 4-5 hours to make sure they’re drying evenly. If the mango slices stick together, turn them over and separate them.
  7. Once the mango slices are completely dry, they will be pliable, yet brittle. You may need to leave them in the dehydrator overnight in order to get the desired drying.
  8. Store the dried mango slices in an airtight container, and keep them away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.

Once you nail the technique for dehydrating fresh mangos, you will be able to enjoy them in the comfort of your own home.
