Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In medium bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Fold in chocolate chips. Shape into 2-inch balls, and place on baking sheets about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
