There are several sources of heritable variations:mutation, recombination, gene duplications , chromosomal changes that delete, disrupt and rearrange many loci . The main sources of genetic variation are the formation of new alleles.These changes depend on rapid reproduction and sexual reproduction. They provide random mating between organisms and random fertilization, therefore it increases level of variability.
