No, a response is not required. The letter itself is a terminal letter, it says, "Thank you [and here ends this conversation]". They have already said that they will contact you. That means they keep the ball in their court, and they have reserved the right to be the first to initiate the next phase of your conversation. At most, set a reminder for a few weeks and then kindly follow up yourself.
