However, when the mRNA is translated, translation will be terminated early as the anticodon of the $UAG$ codon transcribed in the mutated mRNA corresponds to a release factor that separates the ribosomal subunits.

Implications will obviously be a dysfunctional protein because not all of its ended amino acid sequences will be synthesized in translation.
