Having your phone’s Always-On Display activated can be useful for quickly checking notifications without having to unlock your device, but it can also be battery-draining and light up in inconvenient situations. Here are three ways to turn off this setting:

  • Go into your phone settings.
  • Find and select the options for “Always-On Display" or "Display."
  • Under the Always-On Display settings, find the ‘‘Turn off Automatically’’ option.
  • Set the times for when Always-On Display turns off and back on.

If you have a Samsung smartphone, you can disable Always-On Display using the Smart Switch app.

  • Download the Smart Switch app.
