Turning Off Always-On Display
Having your phone’s Always-On Display activated can be useful for quickly checking notifications without having to unlock your device, but it can also be battery-draining and light up in inconvenient situations. Here are three ways to turn off this setting:
Option 1: Manual Turn-Off
You can manually disable the Always-On Display setting on your phone at any time by going into the settings menu.
- Go into your phone settings.
- Find and select the options for "Always-On Display" or "Display."
- Look for the toggle for the Always-On Display feature and switch it to 'off'.
Option 2: Timed Turning-Off
You can also set a timer for when your Always-On display turns off and back on.
- Go into your phone settings.
- Find and select the options for “Always-On Display" or "Display."
- Under the Always-On Display settings, find the ‘‘Turn off Automatically’’ option.
- Set the times for when Always-On Display turns off and back on.
Option 3: Samsung Smart Switch
If you have a Samsung smartphone, you can disable Always-On Display using the Smart Switch app.
- Download the Smart Switch app.
- Connect the app to your Samsung phone.
- Find and tap the “On/Off” toggle for Always-On Display.
- Confirm that you want to turn off the setting.
