Starting a Gas Grill

Grilling is an incredibly satisfying and delicious way to make a meal, and no matter your level of experience, setting it up is easy. To get the most out of your grill, make sure the flavorizer bars remain clean and the controls are correct. Your safety is of utmost importance, so make sure to learn how to properly operate a gas grill before you start.

Step By Step Instructions

  1. Gather your necessary supplies. This includes a gas tank, a regulator, and a hose. Connect the regulator to the valve on the top of the gas tank and the hose to the regulator. The hose should then be connected to the regulator that is attached to the gas grill.
  2. To turn on the gas supply you must open both the gas valve on the tank and the control valve on the regulator.
  3. Open the lid of the grill and turn the control knob for your specific burner to the "High" setting for a few seconds so that the gas is released and then quickly turn down to the "Low" setting.
  4. Press down on the igniter button. This is the button located near each burner. This should ignite the gas and start the flames. If the igniter fails to work, try using a lighted match to ignite the burner.
  5. If needed, adjust the flame level with the knob depending on what you are cooking and the temperature needed.
  6. When you are finished, turn off the gas supply first, and then turn off the control knobs on the grill. It is recommended that you always close the lid when finished to prevent any animals or other creatures from getting to the open flames.

Congratulations, you have now started your gas grill!
