How to Remove the "Twinkle" Feature from Christmas Lights

Do you have twinkling Christmas lights but are looking for a more consistent display? No need to replace the entire strand; you can remove the twinkle feature yourself and opt for a standard light display.

Steps

  1. Locate the fuse box for your Christmas lights. It is generally on the end of the string or in the area where you plug them into the outlet.
  2. Find the fuse labeled 'twinkle'. If it is color-coded, this will be the yellow or red one. If it is not, it is usually labeled with the same words.
  3. Pull the fuse gently out of the box. Be sure to keep it somewhere safe where it won't get lost.
  4. After replacing the fuse box cover, plug in your lights and test to make sure the twinkle feature is gone.

Tips

  • If you can't locate the fuse box or can't find the correct fuse, refer to the manual that came with your lights.
  • Be careful and avoid electric shocks when working with electrical components.
