How to Make a Cell Phone Case
Making a cell phone case is an easy and creative way to protect and customise your phone. Here are some steps to make your own cell phone case:
- Gather the right tools and materials. You’ll need fabric scraps or a pre-cut pattern, scissors, fabric glue or a hot glue gun, adding card or plastic sheets, and a button or zipper closure.
- Measure your phone and cut your fabric. Add a few centimetres to the length and width of your phone and use the measurements to trace and cut the pattern from the fabric.
- Glue the inside fabric to the adding card or plastic sheets. This will help provide stability for the case and make sure the fabric is extra secure.
- Stitch your pattern together. Sew the wrong sides of the fabric together, leaving two holes near the top for the button or zipper closure.
- Put the inside fabric on the outside. With the two holes remaining, place an outside fabric that is facing down and sew together the additional fabric, inside fabric and card or plastic sheets.
- Secure the closure and the edges. Thread your button or zipper, making sure it is securely in place. Glue any remaining edges and the edges of the closure.
- Test your case. Make sure your phone fits into the case before moving on.
And you're done. Your new cell phone case is now ready to use. Enjoy the protection and stylish look of your own handmade cell phone case!
