How to Grow Knoxout Roses

Knockout roses are fast-growing, disease-resistant shrub roses. They produce bright, vibrant blooms throughout the summer months, making them an excellent choice for your garden. Here are some steps to follow to get your Knockout roses thriving.

Steps

  • Choose a location for planting that receives at least six hours of direct sunlight each day.
  • Dig a hole that is two to three times bigger than the root ball.
  • Mix the soil from the hole with a soil extender or compost.
  • Plant the rose bush, being sure to fill in around the base of the bush with the soil/compost mix.
  • Fertilize the roses with a combination of a slow-release fertilizer and fish emulsion.
  • Keep the soil moist to prevent dehydration. Water the roses once or twice per week during dry spells.
  • To ensure abundant flowers, prune the roses when the blooms start to fade. Make sure to not prune too far back, leaving a couple of inches of stem.

Following these steps will ensure that your Knockout roses are growing healthfully and producing beautiful blooms for the summer months. Enjoy!
