Restore the App Store on iPhone or iPad

Are you unable to find the App Store on your iPhone or iPad? If the App Store has gone missing from your device, here are 3 easy methods to restore it.

Method 1: Check Restrictions

If the App Store seems to be missing from your device, the first thing you should do is to check the Restrictions on your device and make sure access to the App Store is allowed. To check the Restrictions:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap Screen Time.
  • Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.
  • Enter your Screen Time passcode.
  • Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases.
  • Check to see if the Installing Apps option is enabled.

Method 2: Reset the Home Screen

If checking the Restrictions doesn’t solve the issue, you can try resetting the home screen on your device. To reset the home screen on your device:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap General.
  • Tap Reset.
  • Tap Reset Home Screen Layout.
  • Confirm your action.

Method 3: Restart or Force Reboot to Restore Missing Apps

If resetting the home screen doesn’t help, you can try restarting or force rebooting your device. Restarting your iPhone or iPad should restore any missing apps. However, if that doesn’t work, you can try force rebooting your device. To force reboot your device:

  • On iPhone 8 or later, press and quickly release the Volume Up button, then press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears.
  • On iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, press and hold both the Side and Volume Down buttons until the Apple logo appears.
  • On iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad with a Home button, or iPod touch, press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons until the Apple logo appears.
