How to Dye Natural Black Hair Gray
Are you looking to add a new look to your hairstyle? Going gray is all the rage these days, and with a few simple steps, you can update your look without having to spend a fortune. Follow these steps to dye your natural black hair gray.
Instructions
- Use a clarifying shampoo to cleanse the hair and remove any product residue. Follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.
- Brush the hair to ensure that it is tangles free. Use a tail comb to ensure no areas are missed.
- Mix together your gray hair dye following the manufacturer’s instructions. Put the dye onto the scalp first, massaging it in. Work your way down the strands with a color applicator brush.
- Follow the instructions that come with the dye to determine how much time to leave the dye in. For lighter shades, leave the dye for about 25-30 minutes. Deeper gray shades may require you to leave the dye in for up to 45 minutes.
- Rinse the dye out of your hair with lukewarm water. You will not need to use shampoo in the rinse stages to avoid drying out the hair. Follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.
- Style the hair as usual.
