How to Play the "Here's the Church, Here's the Steeple" Finger Game
The “Here’s the Church, Here’s the Steeple” finger game is a classic children’s game that helps to teach them the parts of a church building. The game is easy to learn and can be played in a variety of ways.
Instructions
- Hold up one hand with the thumb and index finger forming a steeple shape.
- With your other hand, make the shape of a church house with your thumb as the base and your middle finger and index finger as the walls.
- Now move your hand with the steeple over the church house and open one of your fingers to act as the door, then close it.
- Next, move your steeple hand away and pretend to open the roof of the church house by opening your pointer and middle finger.
- Once the roof has been opened, close it by bringing your pointer and middle finger back together.
- Finished! Now move your church house and steeple hand in unison as you repeat the phrase, “Here’s the Church, Here’s the Steeple, Open the Doors and See All the People.”
