How to Change a Gas Bottle
Changing a gas bottle can seem intimidating, but with the right tools and a few careful steps, you can safely get the job done. Follow these steps to learn how to properly change a gas bottle.
- Turn off the gas bottle valve. Use a wrench to turn the regulator nut until the valve is completely closed. Make sure the valve does not open until the gas bottle is changed.
- Remove the gas bottle from its regulations. Unhook the gas hose from the regulator nut and then lift the bottle away from the regulator.
- Put the new gas bottle in place. Insert the new gas bottle and secure it with the regulator nut. Allow the tank to sit for 15 minutes.
- Attach the gas hose. Reattach the gas hose to the regulator nut and tighten it with a wrench. Be sure to check any connections for leaks.
- Turn on the gas bottle valve. Use a wrench to turn the regulator nut until the valve is open.
